Program Note:

The word "duality" refers to having a nature that is twofold. In physics, light is said to be a duality because in some situations, it behaves like a particle, yet in others, its behavior is more wave-like. I was inspired to write a piece for the french horn that mirrors this concept because the instrument has a unique ability to produce bursting, percussive sounds as well as incredibly warm, lyrical lines.
